What Is FD-258 Fingerprinting?
FD-258 fingerprint cards (also called FBI fingerprint cards) are the traditional ink-and-roll method of capturing fingerprints for agencies that do not accept digital Live Scan submissions. A technician rolls each finger onto an ink pad and presses it onto the standard FD-258 card form. We verify legibility before you leave. Sky Bright LiveScan provides fingerprint capture and completed FD-258 fingerprint cards. Sky Bright LiveScan does not process FBI background checks directly and is not an FBI channeler. Background check processing is completed by the requesting agency, FBI, or approved channeler.
